Best known as the host of the very popular and unique television series, ‘Double Dare’, Marc was born and in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he attended North Central High School. Marc got his first career break at the age of twenty two, when Jack Barry’s announcer fell sick on The Joker’s Wild, 1973, and Marc took his place. After this, there was no looking back for Marc, at least as far as television is concerned.

Soon afterwards, he was on shows like ‘Soap’, ‘Star Search’, and ‘Alice’. It was at this time that he changed his surname from Berkowitz to Summers, because of all the media attention surrounding ‘Summer of Sam’ killer David Berkowitz. A major turn in Marc’s career came in the year 1986 when he was hired by Nickolodeon to host ‘Double Dare’. Within no time the show reached unimaginable heights and so came popularity to its host Marc. After the show got cancelled in 1992, Marc started co-hosting the show ‘Our Home’ and later moved on to host ‘Biggers and Summers’. Besides these shows Summers has also made celebrity guest rounds on other game shows like ‘Scrabble’, ‘Super Password’, ‘Talk About, Lingo’, ‘Win, Lose or Draw’, and ‘Hollywood Squares’.

In the year 2000, Summers returned to Nickelodeon as the executive consultant for Double Dare 2000. Summers then joined the series, ‘Unwrapped’, as the host in the year 2001. The series is currently running into its eighteenth season. ‘Unwrapped‘ revolves around revealing the secret behind the making and the manufacturing of the America’s most favorite foods. Marc is still hosting the show.

Coming to his personal life Marc is married to Alice Filous since 1974 and has two children with her. Summers currently lives in California with his wife and children. Summers suffers from an obsessive-compulsive disorder, which he revealed while interviewing Dr. Eric Hollander on “Biggers & Summers”. Besides his television career Summers is an avid stock trader.
